God wants us, as the body of Christ to understand our place in Christ Jesus! Ephesians 1:20-22 ”which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church…” Ephesians 2:6 “and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” As you can see we have been seated
with Christ Jesus in heavenly places, for it says we have been raised with Him. And being that we are now seated with Him, the enemies that were made his footstool are also made our footstool, we are far above all principality and power and might and dominion!

In Christ you are a force to be reckoned with. In the Book of Acts, when the seven sons of Sceva tried to cast out the demon in the possessed man ”By the Jesus who Paul preaches,” they failed because they were not seated in the authority of Christ Jesus (They did not know Jesus, or have a living relationship with Him) and as a result they got stripped and beaten and had to flee the scene naked.

Now Paul, when he was in Philippi, cast out a demon in a possessed woman by the name of Jesus, and the demon left her that very hour. You can see that Paul knew his position in Christ and that the demon was his footstool, and had to obey him by the name of Jesus. God is no respecter of persons, but a respecter of faith. You have the same authority that Paul had when you carry faith in the name of Jesus, understanding your position in Christ.

We want to understand our authority not just in dealing with demons but also in every area of our lives. We have authority and need to use this authority over sickness and disease, over poverty, and over other attacks and fiery darts that the devil throws our way. We can also use our authority in Christ Jesus to see favor in our life; in business deals, in our family, in our children at school and in other areas that we desire to see the blessings of God manifest. You see, when you look at your impossible circumstances from your position in Jesus; you will realize that you can overcome all impossibilities through Him, and these impossibilities then become your footstool.

Trust Jesus that he wants you to be with Him According to John 17:24 ‘’Father I desire that they also whom you gave me may be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory which you have given me.” Of course you are not bodily sitting with Him in Heaven, because your body is here on earth. It is by faith that you are spiritually seated with Him. To better understand this, read John chapter 17 and you will see how Jesus prayed for us to be one with Him; us in Him and He in us. Romans 8:17a “and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.” This passage shows us that we have everything that Christ has, His authority, his power, his dominion; everything! It is time to believe His word and take it for face value, His word is true and it does not lie.

God’s Word has stood the test of time, and still many who have dared to believe it see it work in their life. So let’s start taking our place of authority in Christ Jesus.
